Inner Michael » Congratulations, Mr. President

Congratulations, Mr. President

Today was a good morning in America. We are exhausted from canvasing all weekend and right up until the polls closed Tuesday evening but it’s a happy tired.

Thanks to all who wrote congratulation letters and for this comment:

“I have no doubt Michael paved the way for President Obama. Having spent the day glued to CNN, with a knowing that it was a pivotal moment in American history,we now have a spiritual man in the white house for 4 more years. Magic! He has the young vote. Is this the time that politics in America will begin coming together for the sake of the Planet and Humanity? I say Yes! Namaste to All,
Lynaire”

I say yes too that vision too. And yes, Michael Jackson was a freedom fighter and without his influence, it might have taken another decade or two to see a black man in the white house orbit. Adam Clayton Powell, Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, Colin Powell as well as Michael all brought the reality closer.

Oh, and can your president do that?

Congratulations America!! History shows that ‘Democrats’ in America are bad news for India but in this case I badly wanted Obama to win…a victory for humanity. Hoping this term, Obama will have more room to leave a bright legacy in the interest of America and the world.

    God Bless the World!

    Love,
    Suvie

He [Obama] deserves another 4 years for that alone – ha ha ha! Congrajulations America, ditto for Canada and the world. If Obama had run up here in Canada he would have captured a woping 67% of the vote! Sighs of relief all around up here when the Prez pulled way ahead of … that other guy.

Chuckling here. “pulled ahead of… that other guy” as if you can’t remember his name. I love it. Not even a footnote in history; as if it’s a grammatical error that someone missed while editing copy. A mere embarrassing typo “glitch.” I hope he takes all his cronies with him into obscurity– Rove, Palin, the Bushes, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ryan and oh, and yeah. please take Rush Limbaugh with you. ~B

I have to join your comments with enthusiasm. As a 60-year old, white, baby boomer, I have never been as proud to be an American as I am this week. This affirmation is so long over due. This election represented affirmation of President Obama the man, affirmation of inclusiveness and fairmindedness and justice, and affirmation of the path forward. It fills me with renewed hope that this “great experiment” of democracy “of the people, by the people, for the people” can continue to be a bright shining light, and that selfish, mean-spirited, self-centric policy will fade and become a distant memory. Love and peace all, Sue.

And…the fact that he can do the Moonwalk is a wonderful bonus. 🙂 I love President Obama’s authenticity. You always know where he stands. He is pretty talented as well since he can sing and dance. Having just come from the SISTER GIANT conference, I see that that what President Obama offers to the country is a more holistic approach to politics. Now if the rest of Washington can align with him, we would be in good shape. I think that having President Obama in office is a great start as we move into the new age. Wow, I just thought about that. I am very hopeful.
