Holy dancing molecules, Batman! (or)

WHAT’S YOUR VIBE?

In order to even want to seek enlightenment, one must first be awakened. We live in the trance of the modern world with its emphasis on ego-related gain– money, fame, status. That trance has cost us. We are hypnotized into believing that our salvation, and our search for meaning lies in “accumulation.” Accumulating as in wealth, things, attention, pleasure, leisure, and all “worldly treasures” such as “chasing the American dream” in this country. We think beauty and youth is the holy grail and that anything worthy must be air-brushed and groomed and polished while all else fades into oblivion. It’s all about “the beautiful people.”

We think more is better. And we send out ahead of us a radar beam that we presume will know and alert us to the precise moment in time we have “arrived” at some fantasy place along a continuum when we will indeed be “there.” We add more. And when that’s not enough, we add better. And we keep moving toward that imaginary “destination” of having “arrived.”

Meanwhile all this excess and consumption eats up the planet. It eats up animals, minerals and precious resources. It eats up habitats and ecosystems and healthy balances. Species deemed inconvenient lose their homes and become extinct never to be seen again. A creature of God and Creation disrepected in favor of momentary gain– now gone forever. This narcissistic focus on self and immediate gratification at the expense of the planet erodes any moral code and leaves a spiritual vacuum in its wake.

Worldly conveniences and treasures don’t fill up the soul.

And right now… matters are soul deep.

We can’t wake up if we are living the trance.

Did you know that only one in ten million people on this planet see enlightenment as their destiny and actively seek it? Something had to awaken them. Or were they born awake? Some are, I think. Some know from the time they are children. Some catch glimpses and are drawn to investigate. Some receive messages in dreams. Some stumble upon an incident that leads them somewhere else. Some encounter a teacher and they set foot on the path. Some are called to the work.

Some get a wake-up-call. A crisis, shock, trauma startles them awake.

When Michael Jackson’s death was announced, many entered that state of shock, trauma, crisis. Many awoke. Many revisited his prophetic messages in lyrics and songs. Many more began to get the message about “LOVE” and the planet and began to implement it in thier lives. Many, fascinated by the worldwide outpouring of grief began to look into the life of the man for the first time.

They found his messages about:

“LOVE”
They found out he was a humble man who treated everybody with respect and dignity. He was generous, intuitive and kind.

“Heal the World”
They found out about his humanitarian projects that were carried out quietly, behind the scenes all over the world. They learned how he visited orphanages and schools and hospitals around the world and made huge donations of equipment and cash.. for sick children.

“save the children”
They found out about the hospital wings he bought, orphanages he restored, playgrounds he built, and gifts of toys sent to hospitals and clinics in some of the most remote parts of the world. They learned of how many families he befriended who would never forget his generosity.

“Be the change”
They found out how Michael would learn of some child’s personal dilemma and would visit or send gifts or clothing. Sometimes he paid for treatment the families couldn’t afford and sometimes he paid for funerals.

Once awakened, it is impossible to go back to sleep. Many learned about Michael and they began to see Michael and his life and the context of his life in a different light. They began to get angry at how this man was manipulated, vilified and trashed undeservedly. They began to understand the scope of the cultural abuse of Michael Jackson. They began to know the reasons behind it: money, greed, jealousy, retaliation, vicarious fame, cynicism, and racism. They began to care about his legacy because they care about being mislead; they are tired of being manipulated and exploited and they care about getting at the truth. They demand that the truth become the new standard and code of ethics for media.

What they don’t yet know and have yet to discover is that it is not about Michael, his legacy, media or even the truth.

It is about them and who they are becoming. It’s about nothing less than human evolution. It’s simple, really: humanity either evolves or extinguishes itself. It’s all about consciousness on this planet. You came here to understand.

    Dear Rev.B.
Thank you for this post. This book has me excited and I ordered it yesterday. Will it be the answer for me?
What these pages say, hopefully, may increase my understanding of all that is. I am longing to know whether or not Michael’s passing was the only action capable of shaking me out of ignorant slumber. Though that fills me with gratitude, it does feel sad.
Or would our souls have sent out another call, another day?
I am ready and thank you for always leaving on the light for us.
    Namaste,
    Lynaire

Yes, Michael’s passing did awaken a lot of people, and I’m proud to say, that I am one of them. When Michael passed, I began to ask more questions about everything that I read or hear on T.V. I began to be a smarter reader and not believing in everything that I hear or read. I also became more spiritual. I began to read the bible more and have a closer relationship with Jesus. I have two children and Michael has inspired me to be the best parent that I can. I try to enrich them with God’s message of Love. I also teach them the power of giving to others, reading the bible, and praying. Michael was a wonderful father and we need more wonderful parents like him.

I close with a bible story which reminds me of Michael. There’s an interesting story in the Bible about a man named Samson. God told his parents that Samson belonged to him and instructed them to never cut his hair. Samson’s hair made him the strongest man that the world has ever seen. God had a plan for Samson and his job was to save the Israelites. Samson died young but he accomplished what God planned for him and he died doing what blessed him with. I believe Michael was a messenger. Like Samson people were jealous of his talent or power, and they tried to discover his weakness, so they could destroy him. I believe at the end, Michael awakened a lot of people and opened the doors to hope.

I just order the book and will eagerly await to devour it! I have known in my core for almost 4 years now that the phenomenon surrounding Michael’s life and passing is all about the evolution of humanity. I have no doubt and feel so very blessed and grateful to be awakened and on this journey.

Yes I concur with Monica. Thank you very much. I am always inspired and learn when I read your articles. I also was one of the people awakened when Michael was called home. For that I am extremely grateful. I can never go back nor do I want to. I know it’s bigger than Michael. I am fortunate to have understood that right away, although he is certainly my biggest inspiration because of what he stood for and still stands for. It’s amazing where this journey has taken me. It led me here which I am also very grateful for. I am learning to live an evolutionary relationship to life. I am evolving, we are evolving, Mother Earth is evolving, the universe is evolving and the list goes on and on. If I were still asleep I wouldn’t not be here with you here on this site. With my sincerest gratitude Rev Barbara, thank you! NAMASTE!

Thank you Kim. And thanks for how your Michael’d inspiration makes the world a better place as a volunteer with Voices and for your courage to face overwhelming devastation as a Red Cross Disaster Relief team member. It isn’t easy to bear witness to that kind of pain. When Jackson said “you are my legacy” I imagine he had his lyrics and that kind of LOVE in mind. Namaste` right back. ~B
