When a flock of geese fly together, they are separate yet whole. They are individual holons (I-ness) and a social holon (we-ness) and form a “nexus agency” which is a tendency for the collective holon to move together in the same direction led by the lead goose. The flock is not mandated to follow the lead goose but the system understands somehow that it is in their best interest to go in a certain direction to contribute to the goal of getting where they are going (which, by the way, is more fluid than pre-determined.)
Wild geese fly like family. Each individual is a holon and together the flock is a holon and they are all part of a bigger holon which is a kind of transcendence of self and with a destination by implied consensus. This kind of system is what is called “greater than the sum of its parts.”)
The lead flyer is not superior to the flock nor does the point goose have personal agenda. The leader guides the flock to a destination that is in its best interest. The flock (holon) knows that it is in its best interest to fly together, to seek a universal goal beneficial to all and to be a team player within the holon.
The lead goose can fluctuate as another goose takes over the flock and steers them toward their destination. They don’t fight over who is out front; they don’t “go rogue” and try to steer the flock away from its best interest or best destination; no one goose believes it has the answer; no one goose insists on allegience to something other than the best interests of the whole. The lead goose does not insist on a title, photo op or separate distinction. the flock implicitly understands that together they are more safe and formidable than they are separately.
The goose has no problem leaving its ego at the door.
Our heading is evloution of the species, to arrive at an advanced form of human being– one that recognizes all as brothers in the human family. Flockism works well for the species who is all going in the same direction, toward the same destination and in the best interest of its survival. The flock knows when to fly, when to rest, when to eat and they operate as a holon within a greater holon.
Michael Jackson was a holon within a holon and his fans are a holon within a holon within a greater holon. There is a goal or destination for the flock- to make the world a better place by embracing and embodying his legacy. He wanted to heal the world of its suffering– period. He knew the power of his pulpit and he built his power (the power of his brand) consciously. His focus never wavered.
Just because he is no longer here in body does not mean he has reliquished his position as the nexus. There is enough evidence of his leadership and its power for the flock to understand their mission. He left clear instructions about how to carry on without him. He was impeccable in his allegience to the destination of the holon and his understanding of how that holon is part of another– that the sum of the impact is greater than its parts.
Yet there are rogue holons who lose sight of the destination. There are individual holons who jockey for position. There are singular holons who forget they are a part of the greater holon or body of humanity and they bully other bodies. That is not who Michael was. That is not his legacy nor his mission and it does not serve the whole.
The greatest blessing and the most satisfaction does not come from “ruffled feathers” or infighting but in serving. There is honor in showing up to serve. If the flock is to get to its destination, the holon must continue in formation. The destination, not the individual is the key and the knowingness that the holon serves a greater holon and there is honor in serving the destination. Competition leads to fighting and war. It has never served the goal of peace.
The lead goose remains here in spirit. He never wavered, never cursed the flock, never abandoned his winged family or exiled any of them. He never allowed haggling over the lead position. He left clear instructions in his lyrics and even clearer footsteps. The leader always serves the flock, not himself. And he never forgets who and what he is.
Individuals don’t change the world like greater holons do. Holons that serve something greater than the sum of their parts. Michael wanted every member of the flock to land safely at the same destination– a healed and whole world. That should be the collective consciousness in flight. When one deviates from the mission, the mission fades father into the distance and it takes longer to get there.
We have been flying for such a long time; aren’t your wings getting tired?
Leadership that serves is the most honorable kind. Don’t forget your species. Don’t forget whom you serve and why. You don’t serve Michael. You don’t even serve his legacy. You serve the holon Michael had in mind.
Remember your wings.
Take a close look here– for there won’t be a quiz but a consequence. When you turn on your own species, you harm the whole flock and the holon that is their heading. Or would you rather stay here… in this kind of world? You are nothing less than a “world architect;” what in the world are you building?

I fear we have a way to go before our tired wings can get some rest! It feels like we are forever flying against the wind, but we must prevail. Michael stands as a powerful reminder of courage in action. How many times must it have been a monumental effort for him to just get out of bed, and face a hostile world that appeared to be hell bent on his destruction?
Watching the videos of One Direction brought back to me when they first appeared on the talent show The X Factor. All turned up to perform as individual singers, likewise a group of girls came on as individual performers. Simon Cowell, whose ability to spot talent is legendary, told both the boys and girls to go away and form groups, as he felt that as individuals they were not strong enough. The girl group quickly failed; there was always competition to be queen bee, and they simply did not gel together. The boys formed One Direction, and never looked back. They have always understood that each is stronger together, that the greater good is served by supporting each other. I`m sure they will be there for poor Harry. Cyber bullying, which Harry was subjected to must be one of the worst aspects of modern technology. How easy to sit at a computer and abuse a person you will never need to face!
Let`s hope we can use the same technology to educate those who do not fully understand the consequences of their actions. I live in hope… Love and blessings from Scotland.
I live there too, R. Shall we invite the rest of them? *wink* ~Rev B

Those geese look like Canada geese – our national bird up here north of the 49th. Did you know they also mate for life?
I know I just don’t have enough of my life left to give any focus to the ruffled feathered infighters. I just truly don’t. I am sad they don’t feel the amazing power of unity but I can only give all my focus to those who put aside the pettiness of individual ego and stand united to the greater purpose. In my experience there is no greater joy or satisfaction. The RFI’s will leave themselves out and not reach the destination – but we will.
I like your RFI (ruffled feather infighters) moniker. Michael himself spoke about , wrote lyrics and books about and sang about unity all his life. All his life! He never once wavered. How anybody can miss this message makes no sense to me. It’s in all his work– I just heard it in HIStory again this morning. The RFI is such a shame; and shameful. I’m looking for a way…..ideas people? ~B
ideas – all I can hear in my head is Dr. King saying: “Keep Your Eyes On The Prize.” How many times have we appealed to the RFI’s? When does this become a waste of time, our most precious commodity? Should those of us who do not want to waste time on the irrelevancies of in-fighting seek each other out on some kind of massive global scale, and present a massive united front, separating ourselves and delineating ourselves from the RFI’s to better accomplish our aims?
Maybe. What do y’all think?
She’s right- we are not “spending time;” we are spending LIFE. Lifeforce. ~B
Hmmm……Well if we all as a….let`s say Smooth Feathered Fellowship get on with doing what is right and so sorely needed, maybe one day those RFI`s might just get curious. Worth a try at least! Love and blessings from Scotland.
I read a fan comment– can’t recall where unfortunately– that said in my recollection something like this: “wouldn’t it be nice if we MJ fans had our own planet– Planet Michael– and we could live there according to his teachings of love and harmony.” Made sense to me. Of course, we still live on our beautiful planet Earth, but we are forming our own flock, our own family. Thanks for this way of looking at our movement– the holon.
I am in complete agreement with our family’s comments here. Amazed that the same thoughts have been running through the beautiful minds of us all. My soul has been trying to get through that it is time to stop waiting for other opinions to soften. The voice in my head telling me that if some people have not “got” Michael yet, will they ever in this life? How long must we consider their views? It sounded a bit radical and maybe uncaring, so I kept silent. However, my vote now is to concentrate on the awesome changes in our own souls’ and the wonderful flow of grace we have received.
Namaste,
I love you all.
Lynaire.
There IS a place where we will one day live according to Michael’s teachings of love and harmony. It’s not called Planet Michael, it’s called Heaven…and he’s waiting for us there.
